Back in December 2012, Paige, a hardcore cheese connoisseur, rented a space in a friend’s jewerly shop to sell a variety of specialty cheeses that cannot be found in your typical supermarket.

Soon after setting up shop, word spread quickly about Paige’s cheese. People flocked to get a taste of the 40 rotating cheese options. The shop did so well that Paige had to find a larger location to accomodate her growing clientele.

In June 2014, the new and improved Cheese Patch location opened at 20 E Main St.

The Concept

The Cheese Patch is located in the center of Patchogue’s hustle and bustle. The growing number of bars, restaurants and cafes has made downtown Patchogue a South Shore landmark.

Despite its hot location, the shop maintains a level of ease and relaxation, offering refuge from the busy streets. The staff members here are all friendly and knowledgable. Paige herself has spent years studying cheeses, particularly French cheese, and has passed that knowledge onto her staff and customers. The Cheese Patch offers more than just cheese, providing a educational environment where customers can learn about the origins and culture of cheese.

The most rewarding experience will be for those who are open to trying new things. The staff at the Cheese Patch takes a genuine interest in your preferences and are driven to expand both your palate and your knowledge of cheese.

True die hards can join the Cheese Club and have three hand-picked cheeses delivered to their home each month. Each cheese will include a description and suggested pairings. The Cheese Patch also carries cutting boards, wine toppers, and wire slicers, which will help you become a true cheese aficionado.

The Atmosphere

The Cheese Patch is ideal if you are looking to unwind in the quietest pocket of Patchogue. While the surrounding bars and restaurants attract a lively crowd, you can rest assured that here you will find a more intimate atmosphere. The Cheese Patch has become a favorite among locals with a growing number of loyal customers who enjoy the welcoming ambiance and lively conversation.

Tables fashioned out of wine barrels, handwritten chalkboard menus, and various wine and cheese paraphernalia provide a cozy and rustic yet sophisticated atmosphere.

The recently installed 6-seat bar seating allows for a more interactive experience with both customers and staff.
