The only produce harvested on Long Island during winter is grown indoors, but that doesn’t stop local farmers markets. At these five indoor weekend markets, hothouse lettuces rub shoulders with farmstead cheeses, salad dressings, artisanal breads, nut butters, gluten-free cookies, preserves, dog treats and more — most of them made locally.

Bear in mind that not every vendor listed is at every market every week — and that most supplies are limited.
